
The Art Department has 3 fully
equipped rooms with access to several computers,
digital cameras a kiln for clay work as well as
three interactive white boards.
There are 3 members of staff who work
in the Art Department.

Curriculum
The curriculum is divided into two
stages, Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
Key
Stage 3
In Year 7 and 8 students cover the
basic skills of observational drawing, clay work and
printmaking.
In Year 9 students will begin the
year doing a project on portraiture leading on to
the making of clay heads. They will then move onto
developing their observational drawing skills and
printmaking skills further before finally a personal
project on dreams,.
Key
Stage 4
In Key Stage 4 students get to choose
between BTEC First Diploma in Art and Design and
GCSE Art and Design.
During Year 10 students develop their
understanding of other Artists’ work as well as
exploring a range of media and Artistic styles.
Year
11 is spent preparing for and taking the GCSE 10
hour exam.
