MUSIC
AIMS AND PHILOSPHY
Through the central activities of composing,
performing, listening and appraising, the
department has developed units of work which are
designed to meet the general and specific
National Curriculum Programmes of Study. Through
them it is hoped that the aforementioned
qualities will be nurtured in all pupils. The
units of work provide the pupils with a wide
range of experiences, develop a variety of
skills and, it is hoped, facilitate a growth in
the understanding of music and an ability both
to make it and respond sensitively to it.
